New Bike Share Map Shows Where Your New Stations Will Be

New York City -- here's a draft map of how docking stations will be sited for the city's new bike share system.

The system, which will be operated by Portland-based Alta Bicycle Share, is now set to start in May and will eventually grow to encompass 10,000 bikes in 600 docking stations around the city. Portland has selected Alta to operate a system here, but the city is still raising money for the project.

In New York, bike share's chief sponsor is CitiBank. How will putting another 10,000 bikes on the streets of America's biggest city change the Big Apple? Play around with the interactive map and make your best guess.
