New York Bicycle Coalition and BikeNY respond to Barraga's Letter

Last week the social media world of the New York and Long Island cycling community blew up with outrage over a Suffolk County Legislator's letter to a 17 year old. The letter was in response to the young mans inquiry and call for assistance from Barraga following his mother's recent bike crash.

Following the explosion on twitter, facebook and other social media platforms, the story was picked up by Newsday and other local media.

Executive Director of the New York Bicycle Coalition (of which I serve on the Board), Josh Wilson, was quoted in the article. A full copy of the Newsday article is here.
